Luxury Watches
Rare. Iconic. Raw and fascinating. The Panerai Luminor Submersible Bronzo watch with reference number PAM00968. A diving watch with a watch case made from bronze, which over time develops a wonderful patina and gives the surface a green-iron marking. Obviously, all depending on whether you leave it in the accompanying wooden box or use it on your diving trips when you dive to depths of 300 metres, which the maker guarantees the watch can withstand. In 2011, Panerai shocked the watchmaking world when they introduced a diving watch made from bronze. A special watch based on the Panerai Luminor L’Egiziano watch, which was produced for officers in the Egyptian navy in the 1950s at a time when Panerai only made watches and measuring instruments for military customers around the world. The bronze watch was an immediate success – perhaps because only 1,000 watches were produced. Today, used examples of the watch sell for 3–4 times their original price of approximately DKK 55,000.
The 2019 version of the Panerai Submersible watch face is made from chocolate-coloured ceramic material. The case marking is also ceramic and has the same colour. The watch has a diameter of 47 mm and has an automatic P.9010 watch movement, which ensures a power reserve of three days. As with the original watch in 2011, only 1,000 of the watches were produced. So if you want this watch, be prepared to pay around DKK 120,000 for it.
